A Saltwater Spirit with a Warrior’s Heart
STACY FRETINA FISHING·WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2020·
My name is Stacy Fretina and I currently live in Fort Walton Beach, Florida with my wonderful husband, Dean, and our children. I am a real estate appraisal business owner while also holding licenses in multiple states. While my day job is real estate appraising, my real passion is fishing. I fell in love with fishing when I was just a little girl. I was raised fishing on the bayou and on freshwater lakes with both my mother and my father. My mother was an avid fisherman and the passion I have for fishing came from watching her. I now have the opportunity and privilege to fish professionally in 20-30 tournaments a year with many of them being nationally televised on several TV networks. Some of these tournaments I even have had the joy of fishing with my husband, Dean, as my fishing partner. I was featured in the Mercury Racing 2018 social media campaign for the new release of the 300R engine as well as being recently featured in the article in Redfish Connection, Redfish Women Part 2. I have officially joined a roster of 15 anglers invited for the 2020 season premier of Elite Fishing League, a 13 episode reality-based tournament series following the already popular Major League Fishing series. This new television series will offer an in-depth view of what it’s like to compete on the professional redfish tournament scene, capturing all of the excitement along the way as anglers fish in “unknown” destinations with a cameraman and referee to weigh, immediately release, and upload each scorable fish to a live leaderboard. I am the first and only woman ever to be invited to fish this event which is a one-man style tournament.
